All confirmed orders made with Nu Look Blinds are in acceptance of the following Terms & Conditions of Trade.

Free Measure and Quote Service

  • Our free measure and quote service is available only to Auckland only. The general limits of this service extend from Albany (north), Henderson (west), Whitford - Clevedon (East), Pukekohe - Ararimu (south). Please do call to check if we are able to offer a free measure and quote to you.

  • Areas excluded, but not limited to, are: Hauraki Gulf islands, outer rural Auckland (i.e. beyond Patumahoe, rural Waitakere, beyond Albany).

  • If your home or property is outside of our service area then we are more than happy to provide a free quote based on architectural plans or rough measurements. Once the quote is accepted we will schedule an actual site measure prior to manufacture.

  • If you would like a measure and quote service but your property is outside of our service area, we are happy to arrange this for a fee dependent on the amount of travel and time required.

  • For our team to enter the premise, please provide clear and safe access. We request for pets to be kept away or restrained during measure and quote, and also at the time of installation.

Manufacture

  • Normal manufacturing lead time is between approximately 7 - 10 working days for window blinds products (excludes shutters), additional delays may occur from time to time due to circumstances beyond our control.

  • For orders where the customer has supplied measurements, the customer is responsible for ensuring the measurements required are correct and exact. The blinds will be made to exactly to size. Additional charges may occur to adjust blinds if the measurement provided were incorrect.

Installation

  • Installation takes approx. 1.5hrs to complete for most standard homes, unless otherwise specified for special, customised, or large orders.

  • If installation cannot be completed within two visits due to inaccessibility, then any additional visits will be charged a call-out fee of $150.00 incl GST, plus labour cost of $80.00 per hour for the time taken to complete installation.

  • We request for all window coverings or furnishings to be removed prior to installation, unless our removal and disposal service is agreed to and added to the total quote.

  • If any window coverings or furnishings (such as curtains, old blinds, curtain rails, etc) are required to be removed and disposed of by the Nu Look Blinds team prior to installation then an additional fee of $150.00 (for up to 10 windows) will be added to the invoice. This will be added to the final invoice.

  • If there are more than 10 windows requiring the removal and disposal of window coverings prior to installation, then the fee will be quoted accordingly. This will be added to the final invoice.

  • Any serious defects or errors with blinds must be reported within 7 days of installation (one week).

Payment

  • All payments are to be made via online payment to the Nu Look Blinds bank account as per the quote and invoice.

  • To confirm an order with Nu Look Blinds a 50% deposit is required before manufacturing.

  • Deposits made are non-refundable; once colour and fabric has been confirmed there will be no refund for change of mind as all blinds are custom made.

  • The final/remaining balance is the be paid BEFORE the installation. The remaining balance of the blinds is to be paid before our technicians arrive onsite to install otherwise the installation will be postponed until this has payment has been made via online payment with screenshot proof.

  • In the event of payment being delayed for four weeks or more, without reasonable notice and/or communication from the customer, then this will be deferred to a collection agency to manage collection of final payment to recover from the customer. Once the collection agency is actioned, then recovery costs incurred will be added plus interest of 10% per month; with a maximum of up to 30% interest incurred per annum.

Refunds and Cancellation

  • Once orders have been confirmed and we have begun manufacture, we are unable to provide a refund for change of mind as all products are custom made to size and colours so please choose carefully. Although should a problem occur with the blinds, we will meet our responsibilities  under The Consumer Guarantees Act, to provide a remedy.

  • Cancelled orders will result in the loss of deposit to recover the cost of any work done.

Warranty

  • Blinds that have been paid for in full come with a 3-year manufacturing warranty (covering proper manufacture, mechanisms, and components) and 5-year fabric warranty from the time of installation.

  • Warranties are valid only where payments have been made in full and with proof of purchase.

  • To activate warranty, we require our team to come and assess that the blinds have been used in the correct way and with due care. Warranty will not apply if the blinds have not been cared for or maintained adequately.

  • Warranty claims must be made as soon as possible after discovery of the defect and, in any event, within the warranty period. Where the blind is kept in use and further damages occur, repairs will be at your cost.

  • Warranties are limited to the repair or replacement of the defective materials and components only.

  • Warranties are non-transferrable and limited to only the original purchaser of the products.

  • Our construction/real estate industry partners may extend the warranty to their first buyer only.

  • For any properties used for short term rentals (i.e. motels, hotels, airbnb, rental bach, rental apartments, leased short-term stays up to 1 year) the warranty will be reduced to only 2-year manufacturing and fabric warranty.

  • Nu Look Blinds warranty does not cover natural colour changes to materials that may take place over time with exposure to the elements (sun, wind or rain).

  • Nu Look Blinds warranty does not cover damages resulting from exposure to high moisture and high humidity areas (resulting in condensation damage, mould, mildew or fungal growths).

  • Nu Look Blinds warranty does not cover any exposure to chemicals, and any type of corrosive element such as, cleaning products, marine environments and salt air. If blinds are damaged due to abrasive cleaning products used by you or a third party cleaning company then Nu Look Blinds is not liable for any damages incurred.

Ownership

  • All blinds and installation components remain the property of Nu Look Blinds until invoice has been paid in full.

  • Nu Look blinds reserve the right to repossess blinds that have not been paid for in full at any time. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage incurred in the process.

Other

  • All confirmed orders made with Nu Look Blinds; with or without a deposit confirmation, are an acceptance to these Terms & Conditions of Trade. No other terms or conditions as stated by the customer will be relevant unless a written agreement is made between Nu Look Blinds and the customer at the time of placing the order.
